Wyoming, MN is a city located about 33 miles north of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area on Interstate 35. It is on the south branch of the Sunrise River. See more here.
Martin Island
For a wilderness experience, the best place to visit is the Martin Island Linwood Lakes Regional Park. This is a park that has remained mostly in a natural state so you can enjoy more wilderness than you’d find in a usual park setting.
Martin Island Park is 737 acres and is located close to the Carlos Avery Management Area. Martin Island gives you plenty of places for hiking, and also provides picnic areas. See here for information about Minneapolis, MN: Biggest Half of the Twin Cities.
Bunker Beach Water Park
Also be sure to check out the Bunker Beach Water Park. This is actually Minnesota’s largest outdoor water park. Kids will be happy here for hours. There are cabana rentals for parties, and a wave pool. Water attractions include the 900-foot Lazy Loop located on the Lazy River. It winds around the Big Island and contains single and double tubes.
What brings the most laughs to people of all ages is the “wiggly water walk.” You have to balance while walking across the pool on lily pads while hanging on to a suspended cargo net. Great for watching that super-confident guy get dunked!
